Every now and then a truly exceptional opportunity just falls into place.  Honduras is one of the more recent coffee growing regions in Central America but is one of the most important.  Spreading inland from the Gulf of Honduras on the Caribbean Sea, the growing conditions are ideal for some of the most amazing coffees out there.  The Honduras coffees equal the best from Guatemala and Nicaragua.  The long time political unrest dropped coffee off of the map as an export from Honduras.  Things have changed and the now stable government is focused on bringing Honduras coffee back to prominence.  Grown in Los Planes Comayagua, this is coffee was imported by the son of the farmer and is our first large volume direct buy coffee.

The story is great but it really wouldn’t matter if the coffee didn’t stand up.  This is an amazing full bodied coffee that is very balanced with rich chocolate undertones.  The honey processing gives a distinctive fruit flavor that is amazing.

This is the same farm as our other Honduras offering but uses the Honey Processing – this is where the ripe coffee seed is pressed out of the fruit and then allowed to sun dry without the same fermentation step that washed coffees go through.
